Best Lures for Trout Fishing.

Whether you’re a beginning trout fisherman or a seasoned angler you may still be asking yourself, what is the best lure for trout? Read on to find out!

Trout lures come in myriad shapes and sizes. Jigs, spoons, spinners, flies, bait and even your fingers (that’s right I said fingers) can be used to catch trout. I’ve been fishing for all the trout species for over 20 years in the Pacific Northwest. Your lure selection will depend on which type of trout you choose to pursue. Cutthroat trout for instance are aggressive while Rainbow trout tend to be a little more selective. In the pages of this website you’ll find the best lures I’ve found for catching all types of trout. Whether you’re fishing in lakes, rivers, tiny mountain streams or even the ocean, we’ll show you the best lure to use.

One of the easiest ways to catch trout is using a spinner. One of my favorites is known as a Panther Martin. Panther Martin spinners come in many colors and sizes and choosing the right one depends on many factors. I’ll try to cover the most important factors to remember when trying to catch trout.
How clear is the water?

In clear water with more than 3 feet of visibility the trout will be able to see your lure or bait more clearly so a smaller spinner is better. Color selection is also important. Copper and brass spinners are better for clear water than silver. Believe it or not black is a great choice for clear and muddy water conditions. I love the brass bladed Panther Martin with black body and yellows spots.
